The 19th Ealing Beer Festival is now over

The 19th Ealing Beer festival closed on the 5th July. Many thanks to all our customers and volunteers who worked at this years festival making it such an overwhelming success. We apologise for those disappointed due to the early closure. We will be back next year and will order more beer! In the meantime we hope you will visit the Heathrow Beer Festival in November.

The festival was officially opened shortly after 1pm on the 2nd July 2008 by John Bexon, the head brewer of Greene King (pictured on the left with festival organiser Graham Harrison). John was pleased to see four of his beers selling well, but warned that the best way to halt the current tide of pubs closures was to support your local pub as much as possible.

Over the four days we had 4750 visitors and sold over 15000 pints of real ale. Local cafe and deli owner Bronek once again provided a variety of dishes, supplemented by Hog Roast and Biltong. The weather managed to stay pleasant thoughout the festival, with only the odd light shower resulting in a couple of hasty dashes to the various tents.

If you came to the festival and have any comments, please click here to contact the festival organiser (although he is well aware of issues such tables, toilets and queues!) Next year's festival is 8-11 July 2009. Before then West Middlesex CAMRA hope to be helping at the Heathrow Beer Festival (28-30 November 2008).
